Review: Illuminae (book 1)

  Illuminae
  The Illuminae Files, book 1
  Amie Kaufman, Jay Kristoff

What a wild ride. I've heard about these books forever, but now I am finally getting into them with the release of Obsidio!

I was nervous about the writing style initially, but I quickly got over that because the story was so enthralling (though it took me a sec to figure it all out)

Told from documents about an epidemic that turns war between man and machine, the readers follow a few different people as they fight to survive a mission through space (since that's where they live).

Similar to the Pixar movie Wall-e, the ship they live on has a control system that has been over-programmed, if you will, and teases the line between human and machine.

Absolutely crazy story that has your heart racing and being ripped apart simultaneously. The fact that this could all very well happen, and we could all be sent to live in space with crazy robots trying to run our lives while humans continue to try and kill each other .

I swear, we are the worst species this universe has to deal with ...

but the characters are what you fall in love with, as it is with any good story *swoons*

Gemina review coming up shortly!
